Ludhiana Parking Places

Roadside parking:
The city roads are very narrow and extremely congested. No road in the city has clearly demarcated parking place. Parking is done on roadsides in haphazard pattern. The Municipal Corporation takes no parking charges for this parking.

Parking lot:
One open parking lot has been identified by the Corporation to facilitate parking and reduce congestion in Feroze Gandhi market (commercial complex and stock exchange). Car bazaar is also located within this parking lot. Approximately 650 cars can be parked at one time in this parking lot. Car parking charges are taken at the rate of Rs. 10 per day. Since last eight years, the space is given away to private party on leased basis and this generates good revenue to the Corporation. However there are more parking spaces is required in this area as this parking lot is not sufficient enough to handle the demand.

Multi-storied parking Multi-storied parking:
Six-floor high multi-storied parking lot has been constructed and maintained by Corporation in 1999. This multi-storied car park is located in ‘Zone A’ near Corporation office. Approximately 600 cars and 600 2-wheelers can be parked in this parking. However this multi-storied parking is not quite successful in the city due to the tendency of the people.
