Ludhiana police busted a racket of pirated CDs maker at Nigarmandi

    

Ludhiana police busted a racket of pirated CD's maker at Nigarmandi Ludhiana. Swapan Sharma, SHO of Kotwali police station led the operation. The team raided the Nigarmandi godown and recovered thousands of pirated CDs, besides pornographic material from the godown. The police team acted on a tip-off that a business of pirated CDs was being run from a godown in Nigarmandi.

SHO Swapan Sharma, said, "We came to know that a racket was operating from the place. We planned out a strategy and raided the place. There are two partners, Punkaj and Kapil, both are residents of Haibowal. They have an employee named Honey who used to record the movies for them. We entered the godown after making a hole in the roof as it was locked from the outside."

He said the police recovered 2,500 DVDs, 30 pornographic film CDs, 1,250 MP3 and 75 blank CDs from the godown. The accused were not present at the godown when the raid was conducted.
