Two senior advocates clashed with each other in front of the District and Sessions Judge

High drama was witnessed at the district courts complex Ludhiana, when two advocates, Bar Association president N.K. Chibber and senior advocate Ashok Mittal, clashed with each other in front of the District and Sessions Judge. The entire drama ended with the registration of an FIR against Mittal. The FIR was registered on the complaint of Ahlmed Chaman Lal, whose complaint was recommended for FIR by the District and Sessions Judge S.P. Bangar.

The act of registration of FIR against Mittal divided the Bar Association as Mittal, who had unsuccessfully contested against Chibber for the post of Ludhiana Bar Association president, accused the latter of conniving with the judicial staff and blamed him for registration of FIR. The Mittal group later announced to bring impeachment motion against Chibber for failing to defend the fellow advocate, as latter was also present in the chamber of the District and Sessions Judge, where entire episode took place.

As per details, Mittal had gone to the court of District and Sessions Judge S.P. Bangar, where he had a verbal duel with the court Ahlmed Chaman Lal. In the meantime, Bar president tried to intervene to sort out the matter. However, the situation turned worse as both advocates, Mittal and Chibber, started accusing each other and almost came to blows in front of the Judge. Other lawyers intervened and saved the situation from getting out of hands.

Later, the court Ahlmed Chaman Lal filed a complaint with the police through District and Sessions Judge for registration of an FIR against Mittal. It is also learnt that annoyed over the behaviour of Mittal, the District and Sessions Judge has initiated contempt proceedings against him. As the Mittal group learnt this, they started raising slogans against Chibber and police at the courts complex.
