Dr Naresh Trehan renowned cardiologist of India was in the city to give a lecture to the DMCH cardiologists

Dr Naresh Trehan, renowned cardiologist of India and chairman of Medanta in Gurgaon, who was in the city to give a lecture to the DMCH cardiologists. Dr Trehan, who has done more than 48,000 successful cardiac surgeries in India and aboard, said that now they are trying to do the maximum cardiac surgeries with minimal invasive technique so that the patient should not have a cut on the chest.

Dr Trehan said "From the month of August, Medanta would be the first hospital in Asia having the new cardiac technology to treat the patients. Under the new technology in cardiology, Medanta doctors would be able to remove valves with catheter only. Over the recent months, I have done more than 50 per cent cardiac surgeries using minimal invasive technique and ask the doctors to apply this technique only."

He further said that from the month of January, heart transplantation would be available at Medanta. Talking about the success rate of stem cells therapy, he said, “We have received 30 per cent success rate in stem cells therapy experimentation.“ He added that they would continue with its experimentation till the time they achieve maximum success in this therapy and than they would publish it for the public.
