DAV Public School, Ludhiana

DAV Public SchoolIn a just a short span of 25 years, Dayanand Anglo Vedic Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, Ludhiana, has emerged as one of the most prestigious institutions in northern India. Although managed directly by the prestigious D.A.V. College Managing Committee, New Delhi, which is running more than 650 educational institutions all over the country and abroad, the DAV Public School, Ludhiana, has more or less become synonymous with its principal, Mr R. S. Patial, who has been heading the institution for the past about 23 years. He sounds and looks like a man totally in control of his institution. And like a proud father who never tires of recounting the sterling performance of his offspring, Mr Patial is proud of announcing that he has built the school brick by brick.

The school functioned in the rented accommodation up to March 1987. Construction work on the present building began in December 1986 and the first stage was completed in 1994. The school now covers a wide area of four acres in one of the posh colonies of the city. The building has well equipped laboratories; well-stocked library to cater to the practical, theoretical and literary needs of the students and teachers.

The school is independent and does not get any grant from the government or any other agency. School raises its own resources through fees and contributions of public and donations by philanthropists and industrialists. The school is now planning to open another branch.
