I,have lot of information from this site,please add information about the poeple who left ludhiana dist,in 1947 and also people came in ludhiana after 1947 just for remembrance only.

I have been in this school where Mr Ram Lall was our headmaster.It was 1942 that I travelled to India with my fathaer sardar tara singh who put us in the first class school and i with my brother karsharan singh studied the first 5 classes at arya high school.The morning prayers were done around burning fire.and the mantras i learned there were at hand recently in London where i had to attend a funeral of my friend and the Pundit was saying the mantras from a book I said the mantras by heart

Hello....its really a nice work.... i am very glad to see this website....
but in page of academic scenario the name of two renowed institutes Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College and Punjab Agriculture University is missing........plz put the among others......
It is a matter of pride that GNE had been ranked 19th a year ago by CSR all over india including prestigious IITs and NITs and First in Punjab this is also the first engg. college of Punjab established in 1956.....
So please also put these institutes also among those......

I'm in search of my Grandfather's roots who came from a small village called Madpur in Tesil Samrala, District Ludihana, approx. 15 miles from Ludihana. His name was Mehan Singh, but known in the USA as Parker Singh Gundo, born Jan.2, 1884. I believe everyone in the village had the same last name of Gandhu or Gndo. He had two brothers named Uttam Singh and Harnam Singh and a nephew named Nikka. If someone can recommend a way for me to pursue my search, I would be most thankful.

Good site and great effort to put Ludhiana on Web..
But i request founders of this site to launch campaigns to remodel ludhiana on international level by introducing good public trans[port system like metro rail.local bus service and traffic solutions.parks and amusement centres and educaional infrastructure like universisties and colleges.yhanx
