"Lakshmi Ladies Club" Lakshmi Ladies Club, one of the renowned clubs of Ludhiana with more than 2500 members, was started before partition from the premises comprising one room and a lawn only. But then partition disturbed everything. The club members converted the club into a stitching school for the poor and needy ladies.

At that time subscription fee was just Re. 1/- only and the members used to cook food for themselves for meetings. The main idea behind the club was just to have get-together, to help poor and needy people and to promote cultural activities. With the passage of time, the club was expanded and members made a hall by contributing money.

The club now has expanded to its present shape and organizes meetings, cultural activities, competitions and expert’s talks on different subjects related to ladies so that a woman can enhance her personality while sitting at home.

Lakshmi Ladies Club Ludhiana has always come forward to help the poor and the needy people and has make donations to hospitals for the treatment of poor people. Lakshmi Ladies Club has always been there to help people whenever any natural calamity hit the Ludhiana city. No doubt, now this club has grown in size and members, but still chairpersons have the same feeling they had 50 years ago.

"Lakshmi Ladies Club" provides a much-needed environment to the women of Ludhiana for their total development. Lakshmi Ladies Club brings out their hidden talents, which would have remained, unexplored had the "Lakshmi Ladies Club" not been there. The activities of "Lakshmi Ladies Club" spans from Cooking to Computers, from Health Care to Childcare.

Every year summer training classes are held to impart knowledge on more than 30 different subjects. Open Competitions of art forms like dance, music, painting etc., are also held in this Club on regular basis to encourage artists of all age groups. On every Wednesday, a meeting is held in which planning for competitions and future course of action is decided. Regular arrangement of various activities like seminars, camps, antakshari, chess tournament, picnic, cooking, hair care competition, mehandi competition, computer classes, sari shinagaar etc. are also made.

Lakshmi Ladies Club has arranged so many programs of music, dance, painting, drama, etc., to promote the Lakshmi ladies club. And just because of it, "Lakshmi Ladies Club" cherishes an incredible reputation in almost every maestro's mind.
