Your name and details are registered.

A complete medical check- up is done by the medical officer.

300ml of blood is collected, using disposable needles and plastic bags.

The liquid in the bag into which blood is collected is called anticoagulant.

The anticoagulant prevents blood from clotting and helps to preserve the blood cells. |

Whole blood is the donated blood mixed with anticoalant which prevents clotting.

It is used mainly in massive bleeding.
|
|
Cellular and fluid components af blood can be separated from each other.
|

Each blood component can be used to replace a specific blood deficiency.

Blood components are prepared from fresh blood .
|
|
Whole blood is spun in a refrigerated centrifuge and components are separated.
