Bhadaur House Market

Bhadaur was a small state like Patiala, Malaud, Jind, Nabha, Kapurthala and was situated from Malerkotla to Sangrur. This small State belonged to two brothers, Duna Singh and Ala Singh, who were from phulkian missal. As per old record, it is revealed that this Bhadaur House was a living place of the said brothers and also for their staff members. After partition, when all states were abolished, this Bhadaur state was also abolished. The said two brothers also shifted along with their all staff to another places. When this Bhadaur House was vacated, some of the other famous persons became the tenants of the said Haveli. Ala Singh shifted to Patiala, which came into existence as – PATIALA.

In 1972, it was acquired by Ludhiana Improvement Trust and whole this Bhadaur House (Haveli) was dismantled. The Ludhiana Improvement Trust prepared a master plan consisting of Shop-cum-flats and Booths and made auction of the said place.

In 1976, Mr. Naranjan Singh Talib, the then President of laid a new foundation stone & the name of the said Bhadaur House was converted in Giani Zail Singh Market. The said Bhadaur House market is one of the best, posh and most commercially developed markets of Ludhiana city. It was constructed on the pattern of the metropolitan cities in India and which is the landmark of Ludhiana city. It consists of very big business showrooms, Banks, Electronic Shops, Audio & Video Cassettes shops and about 21 very prestigious and leading Hotels & Restaurants; even it is called Hotel Complex.
