Ludhiana

Ludhiana is centrally located metro district of Punjab State on the G.T. Road, and is well connected to Indian capital city of New Delhi by road and trains. The distance from Delhi to Amritsar is 447. The River Sutlej separates it from Jalandhar and forms its northern boundary with Hoshiarpur. It shares common boundaries with Rupnagar in the East, Moga in the West and Sangrur & Patiala in the South.

Ludhiana is known as the Manchester of India because it is the industrial hub of Punjab. There are many knitwear factories, hosiery yarn mills (Oswal, Vardhman, Duke, Sport king). There are also big cycle industries (Avon Bicycles, Hero Cycles, Eastman) motorcycle parts hand machine tools sewing generators diesel engines tires & tubes and other consumer goods. It is becoming a hub of auto parts manufacturing. It is home to top educational institutes Punjab Agriculture University (PAU), Dayanand medical college (DMC), Christian medical college (CMC), Guru Nanak Engineering College (GNEC), Punjab Technical University (PTU) and other multiple educational research institutes.

Ludhiana has many tourists attractions like Nehru Rose Garden Planetarium in Civil Lines, Rakh Bagh, Hardys world, Guru Nanak Stadium, Water Park, Dream Land, Tiger Safari, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum and fort. Favourite eating spots are KFC, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Dominos Pizza and Subway. Town is notable for its numerous markets such as the Chaura Bazaar Mall Road Ghumar Mandi Model Town Market Kochhar PVR waves cinemas flamez mall, Sarabha Nagar Bhadaur House West end Mall and Ansal Plaza.
